What’s It Like To Stay At A Virginia Bed and Breakfast?
If you usually stay at a hotel but your friends keep raving about the b & b experience, you may be wondering, what’s all the fuss about? Lodging at a bed and breakfast is far different from a hotel stay. For one thing, a stay at a b & b is a much slower, yet more efficient, pace and the service is very personal.
If you need are in a hurry but still need a hearty breakfast to start your day, we gladly accommodate you. If slow and steady is your pace then we gear our day with you that way. In short, we put your needs first. During your stay, every attention is given to you while you’re in our care. From dietary adjustments to physical restrictions, we make sure you get just what you need while you’re here.
We’re also “hands off,” meaning we do not intrude on your alone time, or if you just need some peace and quiet. Secondly, with a bed and breakfast, we focus not only on the physical comforts of your stay, we want your surroundings to be relaxing, too.
Like other b & b’s across Virginia, our inn is surrounded by the beauty of Mother Nature. Situated on 10 acres, it’s not unusual to see wildlife in our yard! And with the Blue Ridge Mountains as our back drop, it’s easy to let the beauty of the mountains relax you so that stress disappears!
But we thought you might like to hear from some of our first-time guests what they thought of staying at a bed and breakfast:
My fiancé and I just spent a long weekend (two nights) here, while visiting the area. It was our first time staying at a B&B and we were definitely treated to a lovely experience. Orquida and Dan were wonderful hosts and made us feel right at home upon arrival. The house and property are very well maintained and the owners go out of their way to accommodate your needs/likes. I highly recommend staying here; it was a very pleasant and relaxing experience.
This was our first experience at a B & B and we are in love. We recommend the Afton Mountain Inn for a great stay and delicious food. We spent our 2nd anniversary here and had an exceptional visit. We purchased the anniversary package which gave us dinner out, a delicious cake and a bottle of wine. The grounds are beautiful and the rooms are very comfy and the whole place is extremely clean. We were warmly welcomed and treated very kind by Orquida and Dan. They were always there to help and give us ideas on things to do while there. The breweries and wineries are very nice. We plan to come back for a visit and bring friends and family to enjoy this little home away from home. We highly recommend this B & B to you as a place to lay your head.
We recently celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary at this lovely inn! This too was our very first stay at any B&B and we are hooked!! Orquida and Dan are delightful innkeepers, and spared no detail, from fresh baked cookies every day, to snack baskets in each room. And the breakfast...oh my! It was to die for! We visited several of the locally wineries and vineyards during our stay, which made for a perfect anniversary weekend. We also opted for the anniversary package, and the cake was delicious and decadent and the selection of restaurants and eateries was vast! We will definitely be visiting them again, and recommend you do the same!!
And that’s the other big plus about staying at a bed and breakfast. We’re eager to share our community with you! From restaurants, retail shops to wineries and breweries, we want you to enjoy all the talents of the people who live and work here.
The next time you’re getting ready to hit the road, consider all the enormous benefits of bed and breakfast lodging. And if you’re in the Afton/Charlottesville area, consider booking your stay with us. We’d be delighted to have you!
