Apple Tasting, October 15 and 29: While many think of the pumpkin as the classic fall fruit, the apple still reigns here in Virginia. Taste, enjoy, and rate a number of delicious varieties under the guidance and instruction of Professor Apple himself.

Falling Leaves and Winter Tree Walks, October 22: Spend a couple of hours exploring an in-depth look at some of Jefferson’s original forested trails. Grab your binoculars, camera, and a comfy pair of shoes and indulge in the waning beauty of the 2016 fall foliage.

Owl Prowl, October 29 and November 5: Catch a glimpse of these nocturnal birds with their beautifully eerie hoots and their silent wings. Jerry Therrien, a seasoned birder and avian expert, will be leading on these upcoming Owl Prowls.

Virginia Cider and Apple Tasting, November 12: Is there any place better to celebrate Virginia Cider Week than Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello? Learn about the history of cider making in VA, taste sweet heirloom apples, and sip a glass of “precious refreshment,” as Jefferson once called it.
