There’s No Coffee Like Trager Brothers Coffee
Coffee—there’s no doubt that for many of us, it wakes us up, perks us up, and fuels our social gatherings. Whether you prefer it bold and black, tempered with cream, or sweetened with flavored syrups, there’s a coffee for you.
Here at Afton Mountain Bed & Breakfast, we delight in coffee from a local, organic micro-roastery that operates in Lovingston, Virginia. Trager Brothers Coffee certainly stands out in quality, not only because it’s fresh and organic, but also because it’s fair trade and sustainable, the epitome of a “green” product.
What makes their roasting process so unique? It’s all in the tradition. The Trager Brothers use a vintage, cast iron roaster that is heated by gas flames, and that’s as fancy as their technology gets. It’s the human hands and the dedication to each small batch that eventually translates to an exceptional cup of coffee. The passion that goes into the Trager Brothers’ roasting process is evident in the way the company describes it: “It incorporates all five senses and something more. It is a commitment to your product and the environment. It is about people and relationships” (TBCRoasters).
Trager Brothers Coffee will soon have their own little coffee shop located in the Rockfish Valley Community Center (only 5 miles south of Afton Mountain): “The Rockfish Lounge, with its comfy furniture and gorgeous views, will be available to both TBC customers and the entire Rockfish Valley Community as an inviting place to meet with friends, use our free wifi service, and chat over a cup of the very best coffee” (RVCC).
Here at Afton Mountain, we grind our Trager Brothers beans fresh for each pot of coffee, serving it in the upper foyer for guests to leisurely enjoy as they start their mornings.
