New Belgium Brewing Clips Beer & Film Tour
Picture yourself sitting on the cool grass next to a group of your friends, a giant film screen perched in front of the crowd. The sun begins to set, and with a flicker of light across the screen, the movie begins. You take a sip of your beer, a unique, hoppy brew, and settle back to enjoy the film.
This could be you on Friday, September 13, 2013 at the New Belgium Brewing Clips Beer & Film Tour. From 7 P.M. – 10- P.M. at Washington Park in Charlottesville, VA, you can enjoy this traveling film and beer celebration. For four years now, New Belgium Brewing has traveled all across the United States, bringing with them a variety of their brews and a host of locally-produced short films to share with attendees: “The best part is that 100% of the proceeds from beer sales benefit a local non-profit who are working to improve your community” (New Belgium Brewing).
You can expect to find around 18 different types of beer on tap, and you can partake in either a 3 oz. sample or a 12 oz. pour. Check out a brief selection of their beers:
Pluot Ale- The pluot is a “complex hybrid fruit developed from the seeds of an apricot and plum whose outside more resembles a plum” (dictionary.com). Try a pluot in an ale, and it’s a whole new type of delectability.
Paardebloem Ale- “Paardebloem” is the Dutch word for “dandelion,” which create a perfectly bitter ale.
Fat Tire Amber Ale- New Belgium Brewing calls this a “toasty, biscuit-like malt flavors coasting in equilibrium with hoppy freshness.”
Biere de Mars- This brew elicits “earthy tones of ripe mango and lemon verbena” and possesses a “celestial orange hue.”
