Lovely Lavender Workshop at Pharsalia
Whether you’re sipping lavender tea, burning a lavender scented candle, or treating your skin to lavender essential oil, the uses for this flowering plant are seemingly endless—not to mention that it’s beautiful just to observe in its natural brilliance. Learn more about lavender and enjoy a few hands-on activities at Lavender Day at Pharsalia, Nelson County, VA’s very own historic plantation home.
On Wednesday, June 17, 2015, Pharsalia will be offerings a series of workshops that will cover “growing, landscaping, harvesting, cooking, crafting and eating lavender.” This will all be under the guidance of Annie Greer Baggett, an expert in the field and the owner of Sunshine Lavender Farm in North Carolina. (She visits every spring to bring her expertise, so if you can’t make it this year, there’s always 2016.)
Your lavender workshop at Pharsalia will include:
- A therapeutic, exfoliating, moisturizing lavender scrub, which you get to create and then take home
- A fresh-from-the-garden lunch
- Plants and products for sale from Sunshine Lavender Farm
- Peaceful views with lavender blooms strewn throughout
This is a fun and unique opportunity for a girls’ day out, a romantic activity with your significant other, or a relaxing “me day” retreat, and you can top it all off with a stay at Afton Mountain Bed & Breakfast. (We’re a little over half an hour away from Pharsalia, so you also have the chance to enjoy a scenic Nelson County drive to and from your Lavender Day events!)
