Lockn’ 2014: The Interlocking Music Festival
“Music is the great uniter. An incredible force. Something that people who differ on everything and anything else can have in common.” ― Sarah Dessen
It may not be coming until September, but people around this area are already gearing up for the “Lockn’” Interlocking Music Festival at the Oak Ridge Farm in Arrington, Virginia. Lockn’ is four days of musical performances, food, beverage and craft vendors, and a host of other activities like Innova Disc Golf. (One could call it Virginia’s version of Coachella or the SXSW music festival. It may be on a smaller scale than these bigger events, but it’s no less exciting!)
On April 7, 2014, Lockn’ will be announcing the newest musicians to join an already fantastic lineup:
Willie Nelson
Grace Potter and the Nocturnals
The Allman Brothers Band
The String Cheese Incident
Phil Lesh & Friends
Bo Weir & RatDog
Gary Clark Jr.
Steve Winwood
As everyone patiently (or not-so-patiently) waits until September, there are a number of other musical performance to keep you entertained in the meantime. Rockn’ to Lockn’ gives a number of Virginia bands a chance to compete against each other in other in hopes of winning a spot at the September festival. On August 9, 2014, there will be a final battle of the bands at Richmond, VA’s RVA Theater to determine which group will win the coveted spot. Although there will only be one winner, each competing band is exceptionally talented, so don’t miss out on their competitive concerts.
