Let’s take a quick peek at a few of Hamiltons’ local suppliers:
Polyface Farms- The “farm of many faces” is owned and run by Joel Salatin and his family, who stress the importance of sustainable agriculture. With a selection of salad bar beef, forage-based rabbits, and pastured poultry, Polyface Farms is “in the redemption business: healing the land, healing the food, healing the economy, and healing the culture.”
Woodson’s Mill- This 18th century flour and meal mill is located along Nelson County’s picturesque Route 151 in an area that looks like a page from the past. Owner Will uses only local and organic grains and corn in his products, and we can tell you firsthand how high-quality it is. We’ve tried and enjoyed their three-grain pancake mix, whole wheat flour, and all-natural grits. Yum!
Caramont Farm - This Esmont, VA farm is just a little bit “cheesy.” They produce fresh and aged cheeses on their own farm and also use milk from another local Virginia farm. With a belief that “great cheese comes only from great milk,” the care and quality in their products is evident with every bite.
You can see how amazing these three local suppliers are, so just imagine how delicious Hamiltons’ food is as it utilizes the full potential and flavors of the area. Ready to stop for a bite to eat during your stay at Afton Mountain Bed & Breakfast?
