Ghosts of Staunton Walking Tour
Whenever Autumn arrives each year, a lot of us begin to anticipate the spooky thrills of Halloween. If you find yourself enjoying classic horror flicks, haunted houses, and the latest supernatural book series (and maybe a bit of history as well), then we think you just might enjoy a Ghosts of Staunton Walking Tour in the nearby Queen City of Virginia.
Black Raven Paranormal has been offering evening ghost tours of historic downtown Staunton, and her ghostly history every Autumn since 2008. While their tours can’t promise that you’ll have a firsthand experience with the spirits of old, you’ll get to enjoy eerie stories of ghostly occurrences right in the structures you’ll visit. (You’ll also have the chance to learn about different types of hauntings. Did you know the three types of hauntings are Intelligent, Residual, and Poltergeist?)
Dark Staunton Tour (October only): Tales of murder, mystery, and haunts! Explore the darker side of Staunton. From unsolved murders to mysterious secrets and legends. the Queen City has many secrets to share.
Haunted Depot Tour (October only) Features the "spirit box" and includes a stroll to Staunton's Haunted Depot as they discuss the location's most famous haunts, sharing paranormal and ghostly evidence and data, using investigative equipment and finally a
LIVE audio session to contact those on the other side.
Historical Walking Ghost Tour (August, September, and October) Explore downtown Staunton and delve into the history of occupants. From tales of Mary Baldwin, said to haunt her namesake college, to Miss Myrtle Knox who supposedly roams the Depot Station, this particular 90-minute tour is rooted in history and fact. Cameras are encouraged during this tour, as many have seen the appearance of Civil War soldiers around the Depot Station.
We look forward to seeing you here at Afton Mountain B&B for your ghostly adventure!
