Almost Oktoberfest in Afton, Virginia

Ah, fall. It’s the season of fiery foliage, scarves and boots, pumpkin spice, and apple cider, and it won’t be long before this season is finally here. Fall just so happens to host another much anticipated aspect, Oktoberfest, and who celebrates Oktoberfest better than Afton, Virginia’s very own Blue Mountain Brewery?
Imagine yourself out on the deck of the brewery, lager in hand, cool breeze in the air, fall foliage in the distance, and a hearty plate of German cuisine on the table in front of you. Between the mouthwatering scents and the lively music playing onsite, you almost feel as though Blue Mountain Brewery has brought Bavaria right to Nelson County.
From September 29, 2015 to October 5, 2015, Blue Mountain Brewery will commemorate and celebrate this traditionally German “Volkfest,” a “people’s festival” centered on a love of beer. We here in Afton certainly love our beer (in fact, there’s even a new brewery being built nearby), so it’s certainly no surprise that one of our most popular microbreweries is gearing up for this fall festival.
