4 Things We’re Thankful For at Afton Mountain B&B
“Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.” –William Arthur Ward
A week or so ago, we shared a Huffington Post article on our Facebook and Google+ pages that identified the scientific reasons why gratitude is healthy. Expressing one’s thanks makes for better relationships, better sleep, better heart health, and a better immune system. Health is not the only reason to offer gratitude, however. Since this is the month of Thanksgiving, it seemed an appropriate time share a number of things that we here at Afton Mountain Bed & Breakfast are thankful for:
- Our guests. Without guests, an inn really isn’t worth much is it? We thoroughly enjoy sharing our home with traveling friends and getting to become a small, temporary portion of your lives.
- Virginia. The breathtaking beauty and culture of this state continues to amaze us. Whether it’s a stunning sunrise, a glass of Virginia wine, or a historic trip to Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello, living here is an enriching experience.
- Our dogs. Fritz and Pansey are two loving, mischievous, adorable, and infuriating canine companions who bring a great deal of warmth into our lives. It’s little wonder that pets become family members, as we have found with our beloved Fritz and Pansey.
- Our fellow innkeepers. They are our friends, confidantes and inspiration when it comes to the world of innkeeping. We’re thankful for their friendship and examples.
What are you thankful for?
