Breakfast is served…

We know that one of the big reasons people choose to stay at a Bed & Breakfast is well, breakfast*.  So we take a lot of pride in the quality of the dishes that we serve.  And that starts with using fresh and local products whenever we can.  For instance, we get our sausage and bacon from Double-H Farm located right here in Nelson County.  We get our scrumptious bread from right across the road at Goodwin Creek Farm & Bakery.  When in season, we get much of our produce from our neighbor farms, including Critzer Family Farm.  Even our coffee – fair trade and organic - is locally roasted in Lovingston by Trager Brothers Coffee (TBC).

*(For those of you who don't have a big appetite in the morning, we offer two other breakfast alternatives that you can select when you make a reservation: a CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST for $10 off the standard daily room rate; or COFFEE & TEA only for $20 off the room rate. The continental breakfast includes coffee or tea, juice, and a selection of homemade pastries usually including scones and/or muffins. Both of these options can be enjoyed in your room or on one of our two sitting porches).

Have a seat…

In order to best accommodate you, we seat guests for breakfast between 8:30 and 9:30 each morning.  Our dining room includes a gas fireplace to help warm you on those chilly Autumn and Winter mornings. In those cases when you need an early departure, we are happy to provide a continental breakfast at an earlier time.

… and enjoy!

First, we’ll offer you some orange juice, TBC coffee, or your choice of our selection of hot teas.  Then Orquida’s fabulous breakfast always starts with a fruit dish – fresh when in season – like our popular Heavenly Peaches, Fresh Fruit Ambrosia, Autumn Fruit Salad, or various flavors of smoothies.  We also serve muffins, scones, or some other pastry whenever we do an egg-based entrée.

Many of our breakfast entrées have a southern influence, but you won’t ever find biscuits and gravy or grits on the menu.  It’s essentially comfort food for breakfast, with a fun twist.  Not “gourmet”, but casual, delicious, and unforgettable.  Some examples of what you might enjoy when you stay with us are...

Of course, we include some of our awesome local sausage or Dan’s perfectly crisp bacon to round out the meal. And we’re always happy to accommodate special diets and food allergies.
